Possible US embassy shutdown could hit visa interviews |16 March 2011
However the US embassy in Antananarivo, Madagascar, has made available visa appointment slots for Seychellois applicants on Monday mornings. For details and contact information on appointments, the public are advised to consult its website: http://mauritius.usembassy.gov
In addition, all applicants planning to travel to other US embassies/consulates to apply for US visas are informed that, due to budget constraints, there is a possibility of a US government shutdown after March 18.
Should this take place, it will affect US embassy operations everywhere, including Port Louis and Antananarivo.
Accordingly, for all interviews for visa applications scheduled after March 18, applicants must verify that the corresponding embassy will be open and operating during that time. Visit the Department of State webpage at http://travel.state.gov for information related to the shutdown.
The US embassy apologises for any inconvenience the potential shutdown may cause.
