Swimming-Local swimmers register PBs at Singapore National Champs |16 June 2010

Young male Athlete of the Year Shane Mangroo took part in the 50m freestyle (25.24 seconds – eighth for a PB), 100m freestyle (56.40 seconds – 27th), 200m freestyle (2:11.53 – 33rd) and 50m butterfly (28.24 seconds – 28th for a PB).

Adam Viktora swam the 100m freestyle (1:00.31 – 52nd), 200m freestyle (2:09.27 – 27th for a PB), 400m freestyle (4:39.77 – 23rd for a PB), 800m freestyle (9:38.59 – ninth for a PB) and 1,500m (18:58.41 – 10th for a PB).

Ryan Govinden took part in the 400m freestyle (4:55.35 – 31st), 800m freestyle (10:08.09 – 14th for a PB) and 1,500m (19:25.10 – 13th).

Accompanied by coach Barnsley Albert, the swimmers used the championships as a preparation for the XIX Commonwealth Games slated for Delhi, India, from October 3-14.

The Seychelles Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association sponsored their trip to Singapore.
