Party youth join campaign to rebuild Haiti |10 April 2010

Parti Lepep’s coordinator for youth Kevin Vidot said this on Wednesday just before he handed over a cheque for R20,200 to the president of the Red Cross Society of Seychelles (RCSS) Colette Servina on behalf of the party’s youth branch, Lazenes Lepep.

The money, which will go towards efforts to rebuild the lives of the Haitians, are proceeds from a musical rave organised in February at the Exhibition Hall at Roche Caiman as part of activities to commemorate Valentine’s Day.

Mr Vidot said the contribution illustrates the commitment and effort made by the youth of Seychelles to help their Haitian friends in their time of need and despair.

Accepting the cheque in the presence of members of the party’s secretariat and the RCSS, Mrs Servina thanked the group for their effort which she said brings optimism to the people of Haiti and all those involved in rebuilding the nation.
