Spanish radio contest promotes Seychelles |07 November 2009

The Live on Air contest was organised to coincide with the final day of the Formula 2 championship in Barcelona, where the Seychelles Tourism Board-branded car driven by Andy Soucek crossed the line first.

Alain St Ange, Seychelles’ director of tourism marketing, said: “This radio competition ensured that the public at large better understood Seychelles as a tourism destination and they quickly made the liaison with the STB’s logo on the winning car on Sunday.”

The winner in the radio competition of a week’s holiday in Seychelles was Carmen Gimenez Hidalgo from Madrid.

She has offered her prize to her partner Mauricio, a fan of motor sports, who came with a friend to the VIP box at the Barcelona race.

“This was another successful PR exercise for Seychelles and one that will help drive potential holidaymakers to their travel agents seeking more information after hearing about Seychelles over the airwaves,” said Mr St Ange.
