George Papandreou elected Prime Minister of the Hellenic Republic |07 October 2009

President Michel’s message reads:

“Following your election as Prime Minister of the Hellenic Republic, it affords me and the people of Seychelles the opportunity to convey to you our warmest and most heartfelt congratulations and best wishes.

“I wish you success in the performance of your duty as Prime Minister. Having personally known you and collaborated with you during the time that we were both Minister for Education of our respective governments, I am convinced that you will work incessantly for the well-being of the people of the Hellenic Republic.

“It will be my endeavour to ensure that the excellent ties of friendship, bilateral relations and cooperation between our two nations will be maintained and enhanced in the future for the mutual benefit of the two countries and peoples. I look forward to working with you to that end.

“Please accept Excellency, the assurances of my highest consideration and our best wishes for your personal well-being and happiness and that of your family and for the people of the Hellenic Republic to enjoy continued progress and prosperity.”
