New group of French travel agents become Seychelles SMART |11 July 2009

They attended various presentations on the niche markets of Seychelles to better familiarize themselves with the product as well as had an insight into the local cuisine. They also learnt more on the Sega dance and Creole language.

The travel agents visited the three main islands of Mahé, Praslin and La Digue, as well as Denis Island and Curieuse. The island hopping allowed them to enjoy the diversity of Seychelles and sample different types of accommodation, ranging from luxurious hotels to small guest houses.

The travel agents are now certified ‘Seychelles agents’ and are better equipped to sell the Seychelles Islands, in their newly ‘certified Seychelles Travel Agency’.

There are currently 50 certified ‘Seychelles travel agents’ in France. Having followed the training programme and reached their target of achieving five bookings for Seychelles, another educational trip is scheduled for the new group in 2009.

Thanks to the group’s initiative and genuine interest to receive their final certification, the trip turned out to be a real success and the Seychelles Tourist Office in France would like to thank all partners who collaborated in on this project.
