Football: Cosafa Cup-Seychelles lose to Zambia |01 December 2008

Coached by Cliff Nolin, the country’s under-10 team trailed 0-1 at half-time and conceded two more goals in the second period against the junior Chipolopolo.

As Seychelles failed to avenge past defeats against Zambia in the Cosafa Youth Cup, they brought their number of losses against the junior Chipolopolo to three after having already gone down 0-3 in 2000 and 1-7 last year.

The team’s second group A match is today against Lesotho, who also lost their first game 4-0 by South Africa. On Wednesday, Seychelles will play South Africa.

The Amajita of hosts South Africa started the tournament with a bang, getting goals from Thulani Serero (13th and 74th minutes) and Phumelele Bhengu (43rd and 47th minutes) at Absa Stadium in the opening fixture of the annual tournament against Lesotho.
