Czech Republic hopes to learn about eco-tourism |23 July 2008
Ambassador Margita Fuchsova said this at State House yesterday after she presented her credentials to President James Michel and held talks with Vice-President Joseph Belmont.
Mrs Fuchsova also said her country has a long history in education, with some of the leading universities in Europe, and would like to support the Seychelles University initiative by sending lecturers here.
“This is a very beautiful country, and that is the message I’ll be sending to the people of the Czech Republic from my office in Nairobi,” she said, adding that although Seychelles is a modern country, its progress has not been at the expense of either the local culture or the environment.
Mrs Fuchsova is her country’s fourth ambassador and will be replacing Ambassador Petro Kopriva, whose term ran from 2006 to 2007.
