Move to improve pig farms |24 April 2008

With the theme: Key ways of improving the efficiency of your pig farm, the workshop will be held from 9am-3pm today at the Anse Boileau district administration office.

Taking part in the workshop will be high-level officials and staff of the department, representatives of the Department of Environment, Local Government Department, Department of Health, Ministry of Education (Seychelles Agricultural and Horticultural Training Centre) and Seychelles Farmers’ Association.

It will cover: observation of pigs, correct and quality feeding, keeping pigs healthy, keeping records, correct mating practices and breeding, proper housing construction, appropriate new technologies and the use of less water.
