Jahrimba comes back Pli mesan ki en lyon |09 December 2006
The talented singer from La Misère is hoping that Zanfan Ghetto, the title of his recent work, will experience better fortunes.
As a matter of fact, Zanfan Ghetto is already earning rave reviews only a week into its release and as things are progressing, it looks like Jahrimba might have hit the nail right on the head as local enthusiasts seem to be responding positively to his latest work.
Speaking to The Arts, Jahrimba lamented: “Even till this day, I still can’t understand why Vibrasyon Tropikal failed to make an impact as anticipated. It was really disheartening. Other artistes might have given up all together, but I persevered.”
And not giving up appears to have been the winning formula for the singer whose comeback was in the most resolute manner. Pli mesan ki en lyon, one of the tracks from Zanfan Ghetto, is presently enjoying considerable success and it received the most votes from callers who participated in this week’s Paradise FM’s Chat lo sa rhythm radio show.
The track is a typical Jahrimba act – a mixture of tunes that blend together soft and hardcore reggae as well as dancehall music, accompanied by soul searching mutinous and yet loving lyrics that appear to be both defiant and caring at the same time.
Through the song, the singer makes known that he’s loved by not so many and for that reason he has to be strong and pli mesan ki en lyon (translated into English as ‘Fiercer than a lion’).
The song is full of energy and the singer described it as the trademark of all 18 tracks that appear on the album.
“The album is full of energy and liveliness, all the dynamism a man needs to succeed in the music world and in life,” he said.
Those who enjoyed the song Sa pli zoli parol, which was ranked number one and made Jahrimba known as a solo artiste, will surely enjoy other songs of the same genre on the Zanfan Ghetto album, launched during a special Reggae Sun Splash at Souvenir, La Misère last weekend.
Zanfan Ghetto is on sale at all usual outlets at R125.
