Western Union money transfer service launched in Seychelles |15 November 2006

Nouvobanq, a joint venture between the Seychelles Government and the Standard Chartered Bank, started its operations in July 1991. The bank currently operates two Retail Banking outlets on Mahe and Praslin in the Seychelles. As a result of the cooperation with Western Union, Nouvobanq will offer Western Union Money Transfer® service in two locations in Victoria and Baie Ste Anne.  Nouvobanq is the first bank to provide Western Union Money Transfer service in Seychelles. The aim is to create value for its customers and provide them access to fast, reliable and secure money transfer service across the country.

Western Union Money Transfer service will be available to both Account and Non-Account Holders of the bank. Through the relationship with Western Union, Nouvobanq will be able to reach customers during their normal banking routine.  Residents in the areas where selected Nouvobanq locations are situated will benefit from the convenient and fast service of collecting money which is sent from family and friends abroad. Western Union does not require bank accounts for the use of its services.
