Opening party political broadcasts Wednesday |10 July 2006
Initially it was announced that the PPBs were to start today (Monday July 10) with the Seychelles National Party (SNP) broadcast, followed Tuesday by that for the Seychelles People’s Progressive Front (SPPF) and on Wednesday by that for the independent candidate.
Following further consultations will all representatives of the candidates, it has been agreed that the start of PPBs on television and radio will now be on Wednesday June 12 for all three candidates contesting the July 28 – 30 Presidential election.
The televised broadcasts will start at 8.30 p.m. whereas the radio broadcasts will be aired as from 7.30 p.m. the same evening.
As per the drawing of lots on Thursday, the first broadcast will be for the SNP, followed by that for the SPPF and ending with that for the Independent candidate.
The date for the closing broadcasts remains the same as initially announced, that is on Sunday July 23 for all three candidates, with the SNP candidate speaking first, the independent candidate second and the SPPF candidate third.
