Hilton Mauritius GM pays courtesy call on VP Belmont |14 June 2006
She was accompanied by the director of Business Development, Hilton Mauritius Resort & Spa, Genevieve Dardanne.
Ms Münchgesang, who will be in charge of the Northolme Resort & Spa until the new GM is appointed, said that the fact that Seychelles is totally different from other destinations should make it easier to market.
Hilton Seychelles will feature in the hotel chain’s promotional materials throughout the world.
“We are also looking forward to working in close collaboration with the Seychelles Tourism Board in their marketing efforts,” said Ms Münchgesang.
Noting that Hilton attaches much importance to training and re-training, both on the job and outside the job, Ms Münchgesang said that was why in collaboration with Hilton Mauritius they intend to re-train local staff and give them as much exposure as possible so as to maintain the level of service that Hilton requires and to assure continuity.
The new GM said he was very optimistic about the chain’s performance in Seychelles especially in view of the competition.
“The competition provides even more exposure and it helps in maintaining a high standard,” said Ms Münchgesang, adding that Hilton Seychelles also plans to target the corporate sector.
In his capacity as Minister for Tourism, VP Belmont welcomed the ideas put forward and gave assurances of the government’s support.
He said that facilitating Hilton’s work here will bring benefits to both the company and the country.
