Airtel comes out with unique 3-in-1 offer |25 January 2006

A wide range of the latest Nokia mobile handsets have been imported for the promotion, that will provide thousands of free minutes for joining customers.

The attractive connect-offer provides the same amount of free local minutes as the purchasing price of the phone, therefore giving customers the latest Nokia handsets virtually free. 

The Nokia 5410i, 6020 and 6101 are amongst the latest GPRS compatible handsets on the market. The new network to be introduced soon will support the mentioned handsets and according to Airtel will be the most advanced in Seychelles and also on par with the most advanced countries in the world. 

The new Postpaid offers range from as little as R1,200 to R2,400 including GST and are available at any Airtel showroom. 

It is becoming clear that members of the public are already purchasing new 3G/GPRS compatible handsets that will be supported by Airtel’s new network and will add a new dimension to the services provided to all Postpaid and Prepaid customers and roamers from all over the world. 

The new 3G upgrade will also provide fast and more reliable Internet access of up to 384 kbps as against 10 kbps in 2G or 30 KBPS in 2.5G.

This new promotion follows a range of announcements by Airtel. End-December celebrated the announcement of a 25% rate cut on Prepaid local peak rate, from SR3.99 to SR2.99, still making it the lowest Prepaid call rate in Seychelles. In January Airtel also reduced the postpaid peak rate by 20% for all individual Just for You  and Small Medium Enterprises  customers, another best for Seychelles.  

Besides the upgrade Airtel is also adding new Base Stations to expand its coverage to more islands and outer islands.  

Over the years Airtel has continuously led the market in Seychelles with new products and boasts the lowest prepaid rates in the country, therefore using the slogan The No.1 Card.

It was the first to introduce Prepaid Services, SMS, FUN services, 24-hour customer service and has played a crucial role in making mobile and PSTN services more affordable to customers in Seychelles.
