Football: Airtel Cup-Julius' strike sinks Sunshine |15 April 2005

Midfielder Joseph Julius was Survivors' hero, netting the game's only goal in the 63rd minute to earn his team three vital points.

It was an important victory for the players of coach James Barra after two consecutive defeats against St Louis (0-6) and Anse Réunion (1-4).

Survivors remain fourth in pool A which also comprises St Michel, St Louis, Anse Réunion and Sunshine.

Sunshine, who are winless in four outings, are carrying the weight of the table in pool A.

St Louis, with two wins and one defeat to their name before yesterday's encounter with St Michel, were leading pool A with six points.

Runners-up St Michel and third-placed Anse Réunion also have six points but they both boast inferior goal differences.

Pool B is made up of Red Star, La Passe, Light Stars, Baie Ste Anne 96ers and SMB.

Unbeaten in three games, Red Star lead the standings with maximum nine points, while La Passe are second with seven points after two wins and a draw.

SMB are third with four points while Baie Ste Anne 96ers are at the foot of the five-team table with no point.
