In the second match of the day Chile edged Tahiti 7-6 in group C

Heirauarii Salem opened the scoring with a double in the first period, which was soon equalized by Andres Alberno and San Martin. Salem then completed his hat-trick after Hector Tobar delivered a perfectly-placed free-kick.

Daniel Duran and Roonui Tinirauarii followed with goals of their own before San Martin worked his magic. First, he executed a bicycle kick that Diego Opazo headed into the net, then delivered a flicked-on header for Gabriel Bacian to finish. Opazo found the net once more before Tinirauarii and Heimaru Terorotua added goals, setting the stage for a tense finish.
