Iran runs away with a 5-1 victory

IR Iran delivered a disciplined performance to stifle Paraguay’s potent attack and earn their second consecutive victory at the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup™.

Team Melli came out firing, with Movahed Mohammadpour and Seyed Mirjalili each finding the net with powerful long-range efforts to establish an early lead. Paraguay struggled to break through Iran’s tight defence, with their first breakthrough coming midway through the second period courtesy of a stunning bicycle kick from Milciades Medina.

Iran quickly responded, as Ali Nazem re-established the two-goal advantage with a composed finish. Mahdi Shir and Mohammad Masoumi then added late goals to put the result beyond doubt and cap off a commanding 5-1 win.

With two wins from two, Iran continue to impress as serious contenders in Seychelles.
