Kenwyn House poetry competition 2025

Celebrating the power of words

The Kenwyn House Poetry Competition once again brought together poets and poetry lovers to celebrate the beauty of words and their ability to inspire, connect, and foster inclusivity.

This year’s prize-giving ceremony was a testament to the transformative power of poetry, as participants explored the global World Poetry Day theme – Poetry as a Bridge for Peace and Inclusion – through their creative expressions.

While this year’s competition saw fewer entries than in previous years, the impact of each poem remained profound. From young aspiring poets to seasoned writers, the competition showcased heartfelt compositions that highlighted themes of hope, unity and shared humanity.

Gran Kaz, through its continued support for arts and literacy, reaffirmed its commitment to fostering a love for reading, writing and creative expression in the community. The competition provided a platform for individuals to share their voices and experiences, demonstrating poetry’s ability to challenge perspectives and bring people together.

The prize-giving ceremony saw the recognition of outstanding works across three categories: Kids/Youth Poets, Junior/Emerging Poets, and Adult/Master Poets. The winners, selected by a panel of esteemed judges, impressed with their powerful storytelling and lyrical prowess.
