The Minister for Transport, Ports and Civil Aviation, Veronique Laporte, attended the International Transport and Logistics Forum at the Expoforum Exhibition Center in St. Petersburg, Russia from April 1-3, 2026.
The forum brought together ministers and key stakeholders from the global transport and logistics sectors, providing a platform for engagement on connectivity and cooperation. Minister Laporte took part in discussions alongside her counterparts, with Seychelles leveraging the opportunity to strengthen partnerships and explore avenues for enhanced connectivity, which is crucial at this point given the current crisis in the Middle East region.
On the sidelines of the forum last Wednesday, Minister Laporte met with the chief executive of Aeroflot, Sergei Alexandrovsky. She also held discussion with the Minister for Transport for the Russian Federation, H.E. Mr. V.V. Poteshkin.
Minister Laporte was accompanied by the director of strategic business development at the Seychelles Ports Authority, Lynze Marimba.
