Assembly’s FPAC meets to plan restart of public hearings

Members of the FPAC during their meeting yesterday

Members of the National Assembly’s Finance and Public Accounts Committee (FPAC) met yesterdaymorning toplan for the resumption of its scrutiny of government ministries, agencies and departments through its public hearings.

The finances of Air Seychelles from 2016 to 2018 will be among the reports that will be scrutinised in the forthcoming hearing sessions which have been scheduled to resume on July 15.

The FPAC will be meeting with all relevant stakeholders and office bearers of Air Seychelles in the public hearing for a deeper analysis of the statement made by the Minister for Transport Antony Derjacques and the right of reply received from Michael Berlouis, the ex CFO of Air Seychelles.

It is to be recalledthat the FPAC abruptly ended its scrutiny of the Auditor General’s Report for 2019 because of health restrictions related to the Covid-19 in May.

Members unanimously agreed to resume their work after considering the urgent questions raised in relation to the financial situation of Air Seychelles.
