Use ‘Contak’ for easy contact tracing |21 May 2021

Two months ago, the Ministry of Health in partnership with Space95 launched a new contact tracing app called “Contak”. This is a new tool which helps the health ministry in its fight against the Covid-19 pandemic in Seychelles by facilitating contact tracing for Covid-19.

The director in the Health Promotion Unit at the Ministry of Health, George Madeleine, noted that “many people have already downloaded the Contak App. These people will be looking forward to see a QR Code Poster when they visit your establishment so that they can keep trace of their own movements. So it is important that you register to have your QR Code for your premise.”

Guidelines for registering your poster

  1.     Enter a valid email and mobile phone address as you will be sent a verification code.
  2.     If you have a large establishment, please do separate registration for each location and specify the exact location name
  3.      e.g (Floor No. for multi floor building, Room No. for Malls, Table No. for Restaurant) etc… to facilitate contact tracing.

For your working staff and all other individuals, the link of the APP is listed below.

Note that the same APP can be used to register Business Entities. That will be essential in the next phase of the Contak rollout as you can scan the APP directly on all your visitors phone and Printed ID (provided by the APP for those with no smart phone) which will do away with the paper/book registration for visitors.

All Apple phone users (download in Apple's App Store): https://apps.apple.com/us/app/contak/id1563543578 and the link for android appliances is https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.contak

Mr Madeleine explained that if the business has a long list of locations, the owner can send the list in Excel by email to contak@health.gov.sc.  Please download the app as individuals and register your work premises to help us stop the spread of the Covid-19 virus.

Any enquiry should be sent to the following email add: contak@health.gov.sc or call on 6410141.
