Covid-19 update |22 March 2021

154 cases recorded on Saturday

 

One hundred and fifty-four (154) Covid-19 cases were recorded on Saturday March 20, compared to 50 recorded the previous day, Friday March 19.

The spike in numbers recorded on Saturday brought the total number of active cases at 632 and the total number of cumulative cases to 3370. By then, 16 deaths had been recorded and 3122 persons recovered.

The 50 cases recorded on Friday comprise 14 foreigners and 36 Seychellois.

According to data held by the Ministry, of the 154 cases recorded on Saturday, 95 are Seychellois inclusive of 22 cases at the Ministry of Health’s North East Point health facility, and 59 foreigners, inclusive of 34 seafarers.

Over the past few days, many have met the discharge criteria and have been released into convalescence. Friday March 19 saw the release of 93 cases, and a further 67 on Saturday March, 20.
