Seychelles Hospital receives ventilator and oxygen concentrator donated by China |25 February 2021
The Health Care Agency has received a batch of medical equipment donated by the National Health Commission of China.
The handover of the donation took place yesterday at the embassy of the People’s Republic of China and it was Francis HE, chief of the economic and commercial office of the Chinese embassy, who handed over the equipment to Kathleen Cecile, deputy chief executive of the Health Care Agency (HCA).
This batch of medical equipment includes a ventilator and an oxygen concentrator which would hopefully enhance the capacity of the Seychelles Hospital to combat the Covid-19. This donation is also a vivid manifestation of China’s full support for the fight against the coronavirus in Seychelles.
Previously, the Seychelles Hospital and Chinese Shandong Provincial Hospital have established a cooperation mechanism as paired hospital. The cooperation mechanism will support the building of key specialties of the Seychelles Hospital and enhance its capacity through tele-consultations and experience exchanges, multi-channel training, medical materials donations, joint research and technical exchange visits.
China will continue to pay attention to the situation of the Covid-19 in Seychelles and do its utmost to give firm support. The Chinese side looks forward to the continued and steady cooperation and exchanges between the two countries in health and other areas.
