Another death and 77 new cases
One death and 77 new cases of Covid-19 were recorded since the last update bringing the total number of cases recorded in Seychelles to 1,987.
The Covid-19 related death is a 75-year-old man who was admitted at the isolation centre at the Family Hospital on February 2, 2021 and died on Sunday.
Of the new Covid-19 cases, 29 samples were taken on February 12, and 48 are samples of February 13.
Two (2) are foreigners and 75 are Seychellois. Of the 444 currently active cases, 33 are on Praslin, 30 on La Digue and the remaining on Mahé.
Forty-nine (49) cases ‒ 5 foreigners and 44 Seychellois ‒ met discharge criteria yesterday and have been discharged into convalescence.
Everyone is advised to continue practice the different measures to stop the spread of Covid-19. Keep interactions to immediate households (the persons you live with) only and to not gather in crowds. Other measures to follow:
• Wear a mask in public places and where physical distancing cannot be maintained
• Practise hand hygiene regularly
• Avoid gatherings and crowds
• Avoid sharing objects
• Practise physical distancing of more than 1 metre.
