Jothinathan Naidoo and son, Sanjay Naidoo, from the Surya Group, have donated USD10,000 to the newly set up Covid-19 Relief Trust Fund.

The donation was handed over to President Wavel Ramkalawan during a courtesy call they made on the head of State at State House yesterday afternoon.

Jothinathan Naidoo said that they have decided to come forward to contribute to the fight against Covid-19 after hearing persistent calls for help from the president.

He noted that they had planned to make the donation since last week but even though they could not, they were happy to have been able to make it yesterday.

The announcement of the Covid-19 Relief Trust Fund was made by President Ramkalawan during the launch of the vaccination campaign against the virus last Sunday. A bank account for the purpose has been activated at the Central Bank of Seychelles (CBS) for voluntary contributions in local and foreign currencies from individuals or organisations.

Surya Group is involved in manufacturing, construction, retail, food & beverage and scrap recycling.
