Sixteen graduate from APU |23 December 2020

Sixteen students who have successfully completed study programmes with the Asia Pacific University (APU) in Malaysia yesterday graduated from the institution via a virtual graduation ceremony.
In the presence of relatives and loved ones, eleven graduands followed the institution’s first ever online graduation ceremony from the Central Bank of Seychelles’ (CBS) boardroom, with employees of the Agency for National Human Resource Development (ANHRD) also present.
The ceremony unfolded much like conventional graduation ceremonies, comprising addresses by APU’s Vice-Chancellor Hari Nayarayan, chief executive of APU and the Asia Pacific Institute of Information Technology (APIIT) Dakut Parmjit Singh and Class of 2020 Valedictorian Lin Ming Ming.
“You, the class of 2020, are so special! You have faced disruptions, challenges and had concerns and anxiety particularly in the last 10 months. I know a few of you contemplated on deferring your studies. We are extremely pleased to note that you are here (albeit virtually) after overcoming all of these and successfully graduating in your respective field of studies. Congratulations!,” Dr Nayarayan said.
“As all of you are aware, our purpose in APU is to transform you to become highly employable, competent and future professionals. We trust that your journey in APU not only enabled you to gain knowledge and the right learning in your field of study but also gave you the opportunity to shape your behaviour and character, enhance your attitude and also to interact with fellow students from a diverse set of cultures from over 130 countries. And no doubt, the challenges you had faced during your journey in APU, especially in the last mile, have strengthened your resolve to face and overcome future challenges,” Dr Nayarayan added.
