President Ramkalawan chairs first formal cabinet meeting |05 November 2020

President Wavel Ramkalawan chaired the first formal meeting of the new cabinet yesterday.

In his opening statement to the cabinet, President Ramkalawan reiterated the importance of eliminating politics from the work of government and the need to focus on serving the people of Seychelles with the greatest care and humility.

Cabinet approved for each directly elected member of the National Assembly to be assigned office facilities within the respective district administration office, and that such facilities be used on a non-partisan basis.

Cabinet approved an immediate moratorium on the transfer of all land allocated for industrial purposes pending an audit on the status of industrial land.

Cabinet also discussed and agreed on strategies for the development of a five-year government plan, as well as the plan to address immediate priorities.
