Freemason Society of Seychelles donates R110,000

 

The National Disaster Relief Fund (NDRF) has received further donations amounting to R110,000 from the Freemason Society of Seychelles.

The handover of the cheque was done yesterday at the Seychelles Hospital.

Basil Soundy of the society noted that “on behalf of the members of the seven masonic fraternities of the Freemasons Association of Seychelles and in grateful recognition of the doctors, nurses and healthcare workers as well as the essential services providers during the past few months, we are today presenting a donation of R110,000 towards the relief fund”.

Mr Soundy also presented the best wishes of the District Grand Master of East Africa, Dr Virendra Kumar Talwar, who sent his greetings and kind support to this worthy cause.

It was Dr Danny Louange, the chief executive of the Health Care Agency, who accepted the cheque from Stephen Rousseau on behalf of the NDRF.

The donation from the Freemasons is the latest in a series of contributions that have attracted nearly of R10 million so far, most of which have been used to buy resources for the health authorities to combat COVID-19.
