Seychelles Breweries supports HCA in fight against COVID-19 |19 June 2020
Seychelles Breweries Limited (SBL) has supported the Health Care Agency (HCA) in its fight against COVID-19 in Seychelles through an important donation of infra-red thermometers and hand sanitisers worth R670,000.
The handover of the donation was made by SBL’s corporate relations manager, Mary-Anne Ernesta to the chief executive of the Health Care Agency, Dr Danny Louange, in a short ceremony at the Sheik Khalifa conference room on Tuesday afternoon.
The donation comprises 50 infra-red thermometers and 6480 litres of hand sanitisers.
In accepting the donation, Dr Louange thanked Seychelles Breweries for making this important contribution in the fight against COVID-19.
“This important donation coming from the private sector signifies the importance of public and private sector collaboration and it comes at an opportune time when we are bracing ourselves for the second wave of COVID-19,” said Dr Louange.
“We do not feel alone when we receive such support. We feel that we have the support of the community to make things happen, to work towards the same goals to ensure we detect the disease early and flatten the curve,” explained Dr Louange.
“The infra-red thermometer is key to early detection. It captures the very basic symptoms of COVID-19 and will help break the chain of transmission while the hand sanitisers is an important element in the practice of basic hygiene which is essential to prevent the spread of the disease,” he added.
For her part, Ms Ernesta noted that we are currently in unprecedented times and that it is important that everyone pulls together and show solidarity with our community.
“Our values underpin everything we do, and as a business we have always supported the community within which we operate,” she said.
She added that Seychelles Breweries thrives on the support of the community, its customers, consumers and stakeholders, therefore it is equally important that the company provides its support during this challenging time.
