Fruit prices drive August inflation

Consumer prices in Seychelles rose by 0.18 per cent in August 2026 compared to the previous month, with a sharp increase in fruit prices emerging as the main driver of the monthly rise, according to figures released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).

The latest Consumer Price Index (CPI) data show that fruit prices increased by 3.31 per cent compared to July, representing the largest monthly increase among the categories highlighted by the NBS.
