Three birthdays, one family, one tradition
September 17 is a date like no other for Lina Juliette and her two children, Carlos and Gina Isidore. Three birthdays, three different ages, three unique journeys – yet one family, one bond, and one beautiful tradition.
For the Juliette and Isidore families, September 17 is more than just a date on the calendar. It is the day when three members of the same family celebrate their birthdays together.
Gina Isidore contacted Seychelles NATION to share this special tradition.
“There are some family traditions that are simply too beautiful to explain, and ours is one of them,” she said. “In most families, we are used to saying ‘same to you’ during Christmas and New Year, wishing one another the same blessings and happiness. But in our family, we have our own little tradition: every year, on our birthdays, we get to say, ‘Happy Birthday to you too!’”
