Nepalese community in Seychelles holds prayer and candle‑lighting ceremony
The Hami Nepali Global (Seychelles) community came together on September 6, 2026, to express heartfelt condolences and solidarity with families affected by the devastating floods in Bhotekoshi, Rasuwa District, Nepal.
The floods, which struck on August 26, caused severe loss of life and property, with thousands still reported missing. In response, Hami Nepali Global Seychelles organised a special prayer at Sri Vinayaka Temple in Victoria, Mahé, followed by a moving candle‑lighting ceremony.
The gathering was held to pray for the eternal peace of those who lost their lives, while offering deepest condolences to bereaved families in Nepal and around the world. Participants also prayed for peace, prosperity and the well‑being of the Nepali people.
The ceremony was formally concluded under the chairmanship of Hami Nepali Global Seychelles President Surendra Kunwar, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to all office bearers, members and well‑wishers who attended and stood together in solidarity during this difficult time.
