Seychelles launches largest GEF project |22 August 2026

The Government of Seychelles (GOS), in partnership with the Global Environment Facility (GEF) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), has officially launched its largest GEF project to date: ‘Enabling the Transition to a Blue and Green Economy in Seychelles’.
The seven‑year initiative, funded at US $10.48 million, was introduced yesterday through an inception workshop hosted by the Ministry of Environment, Climate, Energy & Natural Resources (MECENR) at the Savoy Seychelles Resort & Spa. It follows the signing earlier this year of an agreement between UNDP resident representative for Mauritius Alka Bhatia and Minister Marie‑May Jeremie.
