Boys Connect: Building resilience and brotherhood

Mrs Herminie addressing the gathering

First Lady Véronique Herminie has launched the Boys Connect Initiative – a three‑day camp designed to empower young boys through technology, mentorship, education, and meaningful peer connections.

The programme brings together 45 boys aged 13 to 15 from public secondary schools, supported by 16 facilitators and 10 teachers from public and private organisations.

Held at NSC hall, Roche Caiman, its goal is to help participants develop the skills, confidence, and values needed to become responsible, resilient, and engaged young men.

At the official launch, Mrs Herminie explained the thinking behind the initiative’s name:

“We chose the word ‘connect’ because technology alone is not enough. This camp combines mastering a digital landscape with building real, supportive brotherhood and community.”

The philosophy is simple: connecting boys, building resilience, and shaping positive futures.
