SRC introduces new cheque payment limits, plans full phase-out by 2028

Effective Monday, July 13, 2026, the Seychelles Revenue Commission (SRC) will implement a new cheque threshold policy for the payment of taxes, duties, and levies. The measure is designed to strengthen domestic revenue mobilisation, encourage taxpayers to adopt digital solutions, and ensure financial sustainability in transactions with the Commission.

The announcement was made yesterday morning at SRC headquarters, Maison Collet, by Commissioner of Tax Gayathri Chetty, who explained that the initiative forms part of SRC’s plan to discontinue the use of cheques entirely by December 31, 2028.
