The Right Hon. Barry Gardiner meets CEFT to advance climate legislation
The Right Hon. Barry Gardiner of the UK House of Commons met with the Speaker and members of the Committee on Environment, Fisheries & Tourism (CEFT) on Thursday, May 28, 2026, ahead of the Seychelles’ Green Investment Dialogue and Capacity Building Workshop on ‘Powering the Green Transition: Parliamentary Action for Resilient, Responsible and Investment-Ready Solutions’, held at the Savoy Resort & Spa on May 29–30, 2026.
Hon. Gardiner was accompanied by Lucy Pearson (Executive Director, Climate Parliament), Eliza Cocksworth-Rylands (Network Manager, Climate Parliament), Dr Laurent Sam (UNIDO Climate Finance and Energy Expert), and Ms Shannon Surman (Policy Coordinator, Climate Parliament). CEFT members present included Vice-Chairperson Hon. John Hoareau, Hon. Gervais Henrie, Hon. Valdana Sultan, and Hon. Robert David, supported by deputy Clerks Alexandria Faure and Samia Lebon, and Clerk Assistant Petra Tirant.
