First MAS Media Awards celebrate behind-the-scenes excellence |23 May 2026

Several members of the media industry were honoured during the inaugural Media Awards ceremony, organised to recognise accomplished behind-the-scenes professionals whose dedication and passion continue to shape Seychelles’ media landscape.

Hosted by the Media Association of Seychelles (MAS), the event took place in the presence of Vice-President Sebastien Pillay, First Lady Veronique Herminie, and the ambassador of Japan to Seychelles, Sakuta Makoto.

Eight practitioners from various media houses received awards, including representatives from Seychelles Broadcasting Corporation (SBC), Telesesel, National Information Services Agency (Nisa)/Seychelles NATION, Écho des Îles, The People newspaper, and Seychelles Independent newspaper.
