President Herminie commends La Digue’s progress |22 May 2026

• Urges sustainable development amid rising challenges

President Patrick Herminie undertook his first official visit to several public service offices on La Digue yesterday.

His tour began at the Public Utilities Corporation’s (PUC) new sewage treatment plant at L’Union Estate. Guided by PUC’s chief operations officer, Ravin Sunassee, the President was briefed on the facility’s operations. So far, 60 properties and the La Digue Island Lodge have been connected to the system.
