EU welcomes progress on sustainable tuna management at key IOTC meeting
The European Union has welcomed what it describes as a major step forward for sustainable tuna fishing in the Indian Ocean following the conclusion of the 30th session of the Indian Ocean Tuna Commission held in Malé, Maldives earlier this month.
The meeting, which took place from May 11 to 15, brought together member states, fishing nations and industry representatives to discuss the management of tuna stocks and other important fisheries issues in the region.
