Seychelles seaweed: A clean future for aquaculture

The turquoise waters of the Seychelles may soon power a new wave of sustainable aquaculture. Stable tropical conditions and a near-pristine marine environment in the Seychelles suggest a high potential for seaweed aquaculture to supply growing global markets for sustainable marine products. A groundbreaking study has revealed that five commercially promising seaweed species from the archipelago contain extremely low levels of mercury, making them safe for human consumption and export.
