Small jewels in the Seychelles tourism crown

After more than 75 years since the tourism industry started in Seychelles from the days of steamships like ‘Karanja, ‘Kampala’ and small hotels like Hotel Des Seychelles, Pirates Arms, Sunset, Sharkies…, the tourism industry has indeed evolved and developed into a modern industry bringing major socio-economic benefits to the economy.

Today as we take stock of our tourism development and achievements, visitors’ perceptions always place Seychelles as an exclusive and up-market destination.

It is in this context that I would like to highlight the merits of the small creole accommodation establishments in the overall Seychelles tourism landscape.
