Rosebelle (Pty) Ltd responds to claims arising from live presidential press conference |09 May 2026
“I unequivocally denounce and reject the recent statements made by President Patrick Herminie (in his first live press conference) regarding myself and Rosebelle (Pty) Ltd.
“The allegations and insinuations concerning arrangements involving chillers, flowers, yoghurt, and related
matters are entirely false, misleading, and devoid of factual basis. Neither I nor Rosebelle (Pty) Ltd has ever
engaged in such arrangements or any form of corrupt activity.
“We have consistently conducted our business with transparency, professionalism, and full compliance with
established procedures. All transactions with State House or government entities have been open, fully
documented, and supported by official invoices and proper processes. This includes our supply of eggs during
the national shortage from December 2024 to December 2025.
“I further clarify that we were once approached by an individual from State House for a quotation on office
space in the Rosebelle Complex for former President Wavel Ramkalawan. We provided the quotation during
normal business operations, but no agreement was reached, and the matter did not proceed. As managers
of a commercial complex, we regard it as standard practice for prospective tenants to decline such offers.
It is regrettable that unsubstantiated public statements are harming the reputations of individuals and
businesses that have long contributed positively to Seychelles.
“During the Covid-19 pandemic, one of our nation's most challenging periods, Rosebelle (Pty) Ltd and I
provided support to our people without seeking publicity or favour. When oxygen was critically scarce, we
imported and donated two essential pieces of equipment to the government of Seychelles: A special deep freezer with freezing capacity of -72 degrees Celsius for storing Covid-19 vaccines, and an oxygen-producing machine.
These contributions were made discreetly and solely for the public's benefit. We have consistently supported
Seychellois during hardships, including donations of food and home repairs following the CCCL explosion
without expectation of any gain.
“For decades, we have earned our reputation through hard work, entrepreneurship, and community service.
Portraying me or Rosebelle (Pty) Ltd as corrupt is unjust, irresponsible, and detrimental to our dedicated
employees, their families, and all who have contributed to our success.
“Former President Wavel Ramkalawan is a longstanding family friend, having shared a close bond with my
late father, Cherubin Morin, since my childhood, but personal friendships do not imply impropriety. They
have never impeded our diligent and patriotic service to the Seychelles we love.
Rosebelle (Pty) Ltd remains committed to transparency, professionalism, and service to our people.
