FPAC reviews audit concerns with four key entities

The Department of Tourism was the first to appear before the Finance and Public Accounts Committee (FPAC) of the National Assembly yesterday, providing clarification on findings raised in the Auditor General’s 2024 report.
Principal secretary Sherin Francis, director general for human resources and administration Jennifer Sinon, and financial controller Don Julie represented the department. The audit highlighted weaknesses in procurement practices and asset management, including instances where goods and services were procured without sufficient quotations, a lack of formal approval from the procurement committee, and deficiencies in the fixed asset register.
