Four decades of research: SFA symposium highlights ocean stewardship |02 May 2026

Stakeholders including scientists, researchers, policymakers, students, and representatives from government and industry gathered on Thursday to gain insight into fisheries-related scientific work carried out by the Seychelles Fisheries Authority (SFA) over the past 40 years.

The one-day scientific symposium, held at the Savoy Seychelles Resort & Spa in Beau Vallon, commemorated four decades of pioneering advancements and SFA’s unwavering commitment to sustainable development in the fishing industry. The event was opened by SFA’s chief executive, Dr Jan Robinson.
