Delegation of Gauteng Provincial Legislature conducts study visit to National Assembly

Meeting between the two delegations

A delegation of South Africa’s Gauteng Provincial Legislature conducted a study visit to the National Assembly of Seychelles on Wednesday April 15, 2026.

The delegation comprised members of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature’s Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs Committee (CoGTA), led by chairperson Hon. Mzikayifane Khumalo. The CoGTA’s mandate is ensuring effective service delivery and traditional affairs governance within its designated province, and addressing issues related to traditional affairs and institutions, the appointment of traditional leaders, and the management of traditional resources.

The delegation paid a courtesy call on deputy Speaker Hon. Egbert Aglae, in which it had the opportunity to discuss the aims of their mission, as well as the programme ahead.

The deputy Speaker opened the meeting by remarking on the positive relations between South Africa and Seychelles, emphasising that despite the difference in size and population there was still an opportunity for both countries to learn from one another.
