Seychelles receives humanitarian donation from Russian Federation |14 April 2026

The Russian Federation has extended humanitarian support to Seychelles in light of the ongoing conflict affecting the Middle East region and recognising the vulnerability of small island developing states to external shocks.
The help includes approximately five tonnes of essential commodities such as vegetable oil, sugar, canned meat, pasta, pharmaceuticals, and fertilisers intended to support national preparedness and resilience.
It was the Russian Ambassador to Seychelles, Artem Kozhin who presented the consignment to Minister for Finance, Economic Planning, Trade and Investment, Pierre Laporte, in a short handover ceremony yesterday morning at the Seychelles Trading Company (STC) headquarters.
