‘May the Anglican Communion remain orthodox in mission, doctrine, in mutual service and discipleship’

“Easter is the earliest or oldest of the celebratory days in the Christian year, the day on which we say, "Christ is risen. He is risen indeed."

“Our celebration of Easter must start with praying for world peace. The ongoing war in Ukraine, Sudan, Democratic Republic of Congo and the Middle East and other places. Christ, the Prince of Peace greeted his disciples, "Peace be with you," (John 20:26), then they were glad when they saw the Lord. Peace is not only the absence of war but the reassurance of hope.

“On the Feast of the Annunciation of Our Lord to the Blessed Virgin Mary on March 25, Dame Sarah Mullally was installed as the 106th Archbishop of Canterbury. This was a historic occasion for the Anglican Communion. In the Blessed Virgin Mary, we see expressions of wisdom, faith and courage. She is a woman with a deep desire to serve God. May the Anglican Communion remain orthodox in mission, doctrine, in mutual service and discipleship.

“As Seychelles celebrates 50 years independence let us reflect how dependent we are on God. The fullness of our humanity is embraced by our diversity as one of the smallest nations.

“Thomas said, "My Lord and my God" (John 20:28) declaring the Saviour is alive. The blessing of the resurrection defeats distrust, pessimism, doubt and fear.

“Our Lord's Cross is the gateway into His life: His resurrection means that He has power now to convey His life to us. When I am born again from above, I receive from the risen Lord His very life.

“Our Lord's resurrection destiny is to bring "many sons unto glory." The fulfilling of His destiny gives Him the right to make us sons and daughters of God.

“When our Lord rose from the dead, He rose to an absolutely new life, to a life he did not live before He was incarnate. He rose to a life that had never been before; and His resurrection means for us that we are raised to His risen life, not to our old life. One day we shall have a body like His glorious body.

“Mary Magdalen's encounter with the risen Lord first and foremost serves as a reminder that Christian faith is personal. Those seeking to follow Jesus – then and now – are called by name into a personal relationship with him. Every person – without distinction – may hear the voice of the Good Shepherd who 'calls his own sheep by name and leads them out' (John 10:3).

“Easter is our testimony that death is not the final word. In love, Christ comes to us and remains with us always. Nothing will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord (Rom 8:39). This is the joy of Easter: Christ is risen, he is risen indeed, Alleluia!

“Peace be with you.

“Have a Blessed Easter.”
