ECS certifies 2026 voters register

 

The Electoral Commission of Seychelles yesterday held a ceremony marking the certification of the 2026 register of voters. The certification is a legal requirement under the Elections Act, which must be done on March 31 annually.

Chief registration officer, Sheena Max officially certified the register by signing and stamping it, which she then presented to the chief electoral officer (CEO), Manuella Amesbury.

In accordance with the Elections Act, the Electoral Commission of Seychelles (ECS) is required to make a copy of the certified register to all political parties. CEO Amesbury presented a copy to representatives of Linyon Demokratik Seselwa (LDS), United Seychelles (US), One Seychelles, Mouvman Lavwa Seselwa, Laliberte and the Seychelles People’s National Movement (SPNM). Representatives of the Seychelles United Movement and the Lalyans Nouvo Sesel political parties were not present.
