Growing up in the south of Mahé, the ocean was never just a horizon for Victoria Duthil – it was home. Long before she set foot on the remote shores of Aldabra, she had already made a quiet promise to protect the waters that shaped her childhood. Today, at just 24, she serves as campaign manager for Friends of Aldabra, a youth-led coalition advocating for the long-term protection of Aldabra Atoll and its surrounding islands.
