Ministry condemns gender-based violence and urges collective action

“The Ministry of Social Affairs, Family and Equality expresses its deep concern and condemnation regarding the video currently circulating on social media showing a violent incident involving a woman.

The ministry strongly denounces all forms of violence, particularly gender-based violence, which has no place in our society. Such acts are unacceptable, deeply troubling, and undermine the safety, dignity, and rights of women and girls.

“Violence against women is not a private matter; it is a grave violation of human rights and a matter of national concern. We reaffirm our zero-tolerance stance towards any form of abuse – whether physical, emotional, or psychological.

“We call on the public to refrain from sharing such distressing content and instead report incidents of violence to the relevant authorities so that appropriate action can be taken. It is essential that we work collectively to protect victims, ensure accountability, and foster a culture where violence is never tolerated.

“The ministry continues to work closely with partners to strengthen prevention, provide support to survivors, and raise awareness on gender-based violence. We encourage anyone experiencing or witnessing violence to seek help through the appropriate support services available.”
